Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) Modeler
This position is contingent upon contract award.

Target salary range: $105k - $110k. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
JANUS Research Group is seeking an AFSIM Modeler to support A-FCD modeling, simulation, experimentation, and capability-development activities at Fort Rucker. The AFSIM Modeler will develop and execute mission scenarios and quantitative analyses to evaluate current and future Army Aviation capabilities, weapons, sensors, networks, threats, and alternative system configurations.
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain AFSIM models and mission scenarios.
• Configure and execute AFSIM simulation run sets.
• Model aircraft, sensors, weapons, missile systems, radar/EW systems, C2 networks, and other applicable mission systems.
• Develop scripts and analytical tools supporting simulation execution and post-processing.
• Support development or modification of AFSIM plug-ins and extensions.
• Collect, process, analyze, and visualize simulation results.
• Support sensitivity analyses and comparison of alternative capability configurations.
• Coordinate with Army Aviation SMEs and systems engineers to translate operational problems into quantitative analytical scenarios.
• Support model verification, validation, and quality-control activities.
• Document model inputs, assumptions, source data, configuration information, and data lineage.
• Prepare technical modeling documentation, analytical reports, and briefing materials.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience consistent with the Force Design Analyst I LCAT.
• At least 3 years of demonstrated hands-on AFSIM experience.
• Experience configuring AFSIM run sets and developing mission scenarios.
• Working proficiency with C++.
• Experience using Python or similar scripting languages for data collection and analysis.
• Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational SMEs.
• Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Army Aviation or DoD modeling and simulation experience.
• Experience modeling weapons, sensors, aviation systems, radar/EW, missiles, or C2 networks.
• Experience with mission-level or system-of-systems analysis.
• Familiarity with Army capability-development and experimentation processes.
